A Fallout enthusiast recently stumbled upon an intriguing discovery: a collection of band-aids adorned with packaging inspired by the popular video game series. Bethesda’s Fallout franchise has amassed a significant following and has spawned an array of merchandise, both officially licensed by Bethesda and independently produced. While merchandise associated with the franchise has included peculiar and unconventional items, band-aids would not typically be expected on such a list.

Over the years, a multitude of Fallout-themed merchandise has been created, ranging from figurines and apparel to lifelike replicas of in-game artifacts. Due to the series’ immense popularity, these items can be found worldwide, satisfying the desires of Bethesda, Fallout fans, and various companies looking to pay homage to the franchise. A Reddit user, going by the name vyashole, shared their find of Fallout-themed band-aids in a post. The band-aids, labeled as “Primeplast,” featured the series’ beloved mascot, Vault Boy, on the packaging, striking his signature thumbs-up pose. According to vyashole, their father acquired these peculiar off-brand band-aids in India.

The presence of Vault Boy on the band-aids is surprising because Prime Medical Inc., the company behind Primeplast band-aids, appears to have no affiliation with the Fallout series or Bethesda. However, vyashole’s subsequent comments shed light on a possible explanation: these band-aids may be knock-offs of the popular Indian brand Hansaplast.

Vyashole mentioned that Hansaplast, widely used in India, used to feature a mascot—a cartoonish boy giving a thumbs-up—and the Primeplast band-aids seem to incorporate Vault Boy imitating this pose as a subtle reference. The fact that the Fallout series has permeated the realm of band-aids serves as a testament to its enduring popularity and widespread influence. While this may not be the first instance of unusual Fallout merchandise or real-life items connected to the series, it does pique curiosity about the extent to which Fallout-inspired products have been developed and where the boundaries may lie.
